Ward Kimball, an animator at Disney Studios, collected narrow guage railroad equipment. He used this small custom-modified steam engine and an open-air car to give friends and visitors rides around his property on his Grizzly Flats Narrow Guage Railroad. The locomotive is named after Ward's daughter.

The engine was originally used on a sugar cane plantation in Hawaii. A custom built wooden cab was created to give the small locomotive the look of earlier steam engines. The boiler was raised significantly for the same purpose.
