You will not find any christian cross, nor anything else located in higher elevation in Slovakia - than this figurative brass-metal cross.
Approx. 1 meter high cross with blue "gemstone" in its heart, is installed permanently on the top of Gerlachovský štít (2,655 metres ASL) from year 1997.
The summit of Gerlach can be reached by several climbing paths of difficulty >= 3 UIAA, or using services of licenced mountain guide (approx. 250 eur fee / 2-3 persons).
Currently there is no free marked hiking trail leading to the summit.
Interesting fact: This cross has been originally installed at the top of other peak in High Tatra mountains - Rysy - by family of fallen czech alpinist Viktor Kubát.
