This small cemetery is behind the large Gunter Methodist Church, about 2 miles northeast (ast the crow flies) of Butterfield, and about 4 miles southeast (ditto) of Purdy. According to FindAGrave there were 36 interments in Gunter Cemetery at the time of this waymark posting. The earlist was 1974, and there was at least one grave from the same year as this listing.

The church itself is pretty large for being out in the country. Since Butterfield does not have a post office, the address for the church is that of Purdy. When I visited the church there were 3 curious and beautiful horses watching me just to the west.
