Newly reconstructed Renaissance chateau in Ostrava-Zábreh (Zámek Zábreh) nowadays offers not only hotel services, but you can here also visit great brewpub brewing four sorts of tasty beers with more than 400 years of in-site brewing tradition.
Beer is brewed here according to the classic procedure, without use any hops extracts, chemicals or accelerating processes. Only premium class ingredients are selected for production, including Bohemian hops from Zatec region, called "Cervenák". Double-tank copper brew house with the volume of hopped wort 5.5 hl is a part of the interior of the brewpub. Next to the brewing house is a scrapping room and storehouse. For the rest of the production here is a new modern style building where a plate cooler, hot water tank, and 3-fermenting cellars with fermenting vats and tanks are located - 5 storage and 2 tap-room tanks. Thanks to the complete reconstruction of the chateau it was possible to connect the beer pipelines from the tanks directly onto the tap-room and it is directly under the pavement of the courtyard.
The Pikard brewery offers a trio of popular beers – Classic 11° lager, Calamus-infused 11° dark lager, and 11° Wheat beer, plus a selection of specials that change with the seasons...
