Just because this small campground is free, doesn’t mean it lacks all the necessary amenities. It offers five wooded camping spaces, each with a place to park the vehicle and a flat, duff spot for a tent, a picnic table, and a fire ring. A rather new handicapped accessible outhouse has been constructed and there is also a solar powered water pump with spigot. A short walk to Baker Lake landing takes a paddler to the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (day-use permits are available at the signboard). This quiet campground is the perfect place to fall asleep to the sound of river rapids or enjoy the antics of the neighboring red squirrels. There are several hiking trails within easy driving distance.
Number of tent spaces: Four or more
Access to Campsite: Car
Special Features: Excess to Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, peace and quiet, wildlife sightings, hiking trails.
