BM 498.4 is shown on 1914 map. Bolt? in South-west side of tower ; 2.48 ft. above surface [1GL, Sheffield to Birmingham, Branch Levelling from Mark No. 242] - tentative idenification of location on the assumption that the decription is wrong.
The church tower is totally pebbledashed. This cut mark is on NW corner of building. Missing horizontal mark and poorly chisseled.
