The bronze relief shows Scott his comrades and the sailing ship Terra Nova, also Antarctic icons - Dog Sled, and Sealions.
In City Hall Cardiff on the grand staircases to the left of the entrance hall, a maratime memorial plaque to Captain Robert Scott and his courageous companions. The staircase has ornate bronze balustrades, which lead to the reception rooms above, and the grand marble hall. The Scott memorial commemorates those who sailed from Cardiff on the Terra Nova, on their ill-fated expedition to the South Pole in 1910.
