Earlier this summer we happened to be passing the Robson Fire House when the boys were out cleaning up their toys. Naturally, we had to stop and avail ourselves of this opportunity to grab lots of pix.

Robson, now basically a suburb of Castlegar, is north, across the Columbia River from Castlegar. They are affiliated with the Castlegar Fire Department and have a small, two bay fire hall on Waldie Avenue in the centre of Robson.

Robson's Fire Hall Houses two Freightliner Pumpers, a Fort Garry and a HUB. This one is a HUB, on a Freightliner FL-80 chassis, manufactured in Abbotsfort, BC, serial number 2250. It is a bit older than its sister, being of 1996 vintage. It carries 1500 gallons of water and spews it out at the rafe of 1050 gallons per minute.

Hub builds pumpers, tankers, rescues, brush trucks and aerials, and has built over 1,000 units since 1959. Most went to Canadian fire departments, with some going to the US and a few to Canadian owned mines in Chile and Peru.
