In 1863, Mr. Demondion request permission to open a limestone quarry at a place called Cliff, a few hundred meters from the site studied. These ovens were demolished in 1901. Other ovens are built at a place called Saulaie in 1897 and bought by Leon Desfontaines of Nantes in 1902. They demolished two years later, while the same contractor built the factory Bellais in 1906 to make cement, lime and white portland. This plant, which retains the name of the first settlement of Cliff stops working around 1936, after trial due to the poor quality of the lime, the extracted stone having lost its original qualities. During World War II, there produces shoes with wooden soles. The number 1910 consists of about 20 people.
