I discovered this small mosaic of a sunflower and other garden denizens while changing buses on the way to work. Made of tiles of china, glass and ceramic, it's very pretty in the morning sunlight, especially close-up, where you can see the depth in the clear glass pieces and notice many little surprises not visible from distance. I wanted to know more about it as it's placed on the wall around an otherwise nondescript city building, near a gas tank, but could find nothing on the city website. I finally did a google search of the name to remember in the lower corner.
This mosaic was made as a memorial to Susan by her friends. Her memorial site states:
"Susan's classmates in the decorative arts each created a ceramic piece towards the creation of this mosaic in memory of Susan. The mosaic is a beautiful piece of public art located at the corner of Chapman and Knott in Garden Grove."

A beautiful memorial to someone who lived in my town, but I never met. Kind of wish I did, if she inspired this kind of remembrance.
Specific visit requirements: Not mandatory, but if you could post a close-up of your favorite bit of this piece of art, it would be much appreciated.
