The reclaimed land of the 'Zoetermeerse Meerpolder' lies on the northern edge of Zoetermeer. This 550-acre 'polder' is the oldest piece of reclaimed land in Zuid-Holland; it was reclaimed in 1614. The Zoetermeerse Meerpolder is a popular area for cycling and hiking, especially on the dyke: the “Meerdijk”. People who like bird watching, like to come here to see the meadow birds.
