Fire Department - Malone, NY - Firehouses on Waymarking.com

The Malone Fire Department hall is one of the largest in New York State, It houses 10 fire response apparatus. The entire operation is run by the Callfiremen - an organization that traces its roots to 1939.

At that time the Town of Malone had paid fireman; however, they were not capable of responding to calls outside the main community. The Callfiremen formed as a volunteer organization intended to supplement and augment the regular staff primarily in responding to outlying areas.

Over time the organization matured to the point that the Callfiremen provide all fire response in and around Malone.
