On a traffic island on Route 116 and Whately Road, motorists are greeted to/from Conway, MA with a pristine millstone engraved with the name of the town Conway and the year when the town separated from Deerfield 1767. It incorporated as a town in 1775. The stone is dressed and inscribed on both sides.
Conway, population 1,892 in 2010, is a small farming community with several historic water mills. A millstone seems to be is the unofficial logo for the town.
