The former National Guard armory in Malone, NY. Built on the site of a tavern in 1892, the Armory was home to units of the New York National Guard , specifically Company I of the NYNG, until 2003, when it was declared surplus and eventually transferred to Malone YMCA.
The building was built in a style reminiscent of medieval armouries in Europe, with a parapet and fortess-style façade.
The Armory is available for viewing during open YMCA hours. There are WWI and WWII dedication plaques located just inside the main entrance. The former officers areas both have fireplaces and staircases still in position.
Era: Napoleonic - WW I
