The building is significant in local history in the context of social history for its association with the Freemasons fraternal organization and the role the Freemasons played in the social and cultural development of Vallejo. Fraternal societies were a common venue for social interaction around the country and in the city of Vallejo , which had a large number of such organizations for a city of its size. The building is also significant in local history in the context of architecture as an excellent example of the Classical Revival style.
