This two and one-half story foursquare style building was constructed around 1917 for William and Eva McGilchrist. Mr. McGilchrist had interests in the cafeteria and furniture businesses. The house was originally located at 695 Summer Street but was moved two block north during the northward expansion of the Capitol Mall. Today the building houses the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission.
