J H Brown was a sapper, a combat engineer, who survived the First World War. He passed away on 6th December 1961 & the bench was placed in his honour in the leafy war memorial park in historic Berrima. The park is festooned with daffodils which circle an English Oak which was planted in 1890 by the father of Australian Federation, Sir Henry Parkes.

The atmosphere in the park is very serene & the view from the bench lovely on this warm Spring day.
