[E] On 3rd June 1937, took place at the Chateau de Candé the marriage of the former king of England, Edward VIII (later Duke of Windsor) and Wallis Simpson. This photo of the wedding of the one who had abdicated the throne of the United Kingdom December 10, 1936 went around the world at a time when the tabloids did not exist!
74 years later we had fun, my wife and I, to be photographed at the same place!
[F] Le 3 juin 1937, eu lieu au Château de Candé le mariage de l'ex-roi d'Angleterre, Édouard VIII (devenu duc de Windsor) et de Wallis Simpson. Cette photo du mariage de celui qui avait abdiqué du trône du Royaume-Uni le 10 décembre 1936 fit le tour du monde à une époque où la presse people n’existait pas encore !
74 ans plus tard nous nous sommes amusés, ma femme et moi, à nous faire prendre en photo au même endroit !
