The memorial was erected in 2009 in memory of the soliders of the Red Army in the Chinese Civil war.
The beginning of the Chinese Red Army actually was in the area of Huoshan, in the mountains nearby the memorial. Many people from the area joined this army in the mid 20ies of the 20th century.
The memorial has an approx. 3 m high statue with a Red Army soldier as well as two walls with engraved names.

Description of Memorial: The memorial is located on the edge if a larger plaza with a large stone wall showing a Red Army engraved in stone. Furthermore, there is an information centre on the Red Army nearby.
