The sister cities of San Francisco are celebrated in light projections at SFO airport. Overhead projectors display an image of each sister city's flower onto the passenger walkways of boarding areas A and G.

A tribute to the sister cities of San Francisco is spread across boarding areas A and G sat San Francisco International Airport (SFO). This is a artwork called "Shining Paths" by artist Lewis deSoto, an American born in 1954. It consists if 16 glass gobos, projectors and mirrors. The work is an extension of the artist's "On The Air" project, located on the floor on the International Terminal Arrivals Lobby.
The work display consists of 16 light projectors, 8 in each boarding area, which project an image from the ceiling onto the walkway for passengers. Each city is represented by the aeronautical map for its airport, overlaid with the image of the city's flower.
