Wrecked by hurricane Camille in 1969, it was restored by the public and moved to its present location on Water Street and is now the Mardi Gras Museum and will soon provide a history of the hotel. It may be the oldest surviving hotel on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Inscription:
Built by John Hohn in 1847. Its operation for a century attests to the Gulf Coast as a resort area. In 1972 structure moved to present location 100 yds. north of original site & restored by City of Biloxi.
