Some old schools were reused for other things: houses or storage or whatever. But this majestic looking building is going to ruin. One can find many references to the school in the MoGenWeb website, and in the book series Lifetime of Memories / Voices of Barry County available at the Barry County Museum. The topographic maps incorrectly use the word Hollow, rather than the correct plural Hollows. The area was named because two tributaries to Flat Creek seem to cross here.

Although there is a gate that one may pass through, I would not advise approaching the building. It is tumbling down.
