Helen McCabe Park is a small (64 acre) day use area at the northern end of the Yakima Canyon Road, a beautiful alternate route between Ellensburg and Yakima.

Background:
In 1967 the WA legislature identified the Yakima Canyon Road as part of a scenic and recreational highway system. This land was acquired as part of the recreational development of the area, but further funding has never been approved. An 8 acre pond is stocked for fishing.
