In Norwood, along Nahatan Street and close to the center of town is the Town of Norwood Public Safety - Police-Fire building.

The building is located on the north side of Nahatan Street, near the intersection with Lenox Street.

It is a tall brick building, with five large bays for the fire vehicles on the right side, and the main entrance roughly in the center. I'm not sure if there are three or four floors to the building. There are letters on the building itself left and above the main entrance, and a stone sign is planted on the ground in front with the same words and includes the town's seal as well as the fire and police symbols.

According to the 2012 Annual Report for Norwood, the "Department responded to 17,997 calls for service, issued 7,465 motor vehicle citations, investigated 1,323 motor vehicle crashes, filed 2,908 criminal complaints, and made 1,174 arrests during the year."

Norwood is a suburb of Boston with roughly 25,000 residents. The police also cover a large portion of U.S. 1 which has many commercial operations. There are also many industrial operations in various parts of town.

Visit Instructions:
To log a visit, you must post a photo of you in front of the building described, with your GPS in the photo. No drive by photos.

I have had NO problems with taking photos of Police stations but please respect the fact that some services may be nervous about having their photo taken and inquire as to why... I have found that once things are explained they are more than happy to let me photograph the building, crest, chief... (they are people too!)
