This Campground was formerly named Bootleg Campground, but got a new name when a Firefighters Memorial was placed on the edge of the campground.

In addition to being a very nicely appointed spot to camp it also gives you the opportunity, after a short hike along a groomed trail, to view a memorial plaque honoring three firefighters who lost their lives battling a forest fire in 1977. From the overlook at the memorial you can view the area burned by the Cart Creek Fire of 1977.
