Otto Hahn (* 8. März 1879 in Frankfurt am Main; † 28. Juli 1968 in Göttingen) war ein deutscher Chemiker und Pionier der Radiochemie, Entdecker der Kernspaltung, wofür ihm 1944 der Nobelpreis für Chemie verliehen wurde. Er gilt allgemein als einer der bedeutendsten Chemiker der Geschichte und insbesondere als "Vater der Kernchemie".
Rechts neben dem südlichen Eingang zur Kleinmarkthalle in der Ziegelgasse steht auf einem Sockel die von dem Bad Nauheimer Bildhauer Knud Knudsen geschaffene Büste von Otto Hahn. Das Geburtshaus von Prof. Otto Hahn befand sich bis zum Zweiten Weltkrieg hier in der Ziegelgasse. Am 28.7.1978, dem 10. Todestag des Ehrenbürgers der Stadt Frankfurt, wurde die Bronzebüste enthüllt.

Otto Hahn (* 8 March 1879 in Frankfurt am Main; † 28 July 1968 in Göttingen) was a German chemist and pioneer in the fields of radioactivity and radiochemistry and discoverer of nuclear fission, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1944. He is regarded as one of the most significant chemists of all times and especially as "the father of nuclear chemistry".
Right next to the southern entrance to the Kleinmarkthalle (market hall) in the Ziegelgasse, stands on a pedestal the bust of Otto Hahn, created by the Bad Nauheim sculptor Knud Knudsen. The birthplace of Prof. Otto Hahn was up to the Second World War here in the Ziegelgasse. The bronze bust was unveiled on 28.7.1978, the 10th Date of Death of the Honorary Citizen of the City of Frankfurt.
