The United Methodist Church is located in the heart of Paisley. This church was erected in 1901 and there's a historical marker located at the front entrance that reads:
PAISLEY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
ONE OF THE OLDEST WOOD FRAME CHURCHES IN NORTHERN LAKE COUNTY. 1898-MINNIE & HERMAN SADLER OF SAN FRANCISCO DONATED LOTS 4 AND 5 OF BLOCK F PAISLEY FOR THIS STRUCTURE ANDPARSONAGE. AUG. 9, 1900-DEEDED TO THE CONGREGATION. FEB. 3, 1901-COMPLETED & DEDICATED AS THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. |
I don't know if this bell in the bell is still functional but would assume it is. The bell is smaller than many I've come across in my travels. This bell tower also serves as a U.S. benchmark, and listed as a centenarian church (over 100 years old) in the 'This Old Church' category.
