The Swan Island Dahlia Festival is held the last weekend of August and Labor Day weekend. The farm is open for visitors all year, but during festival time, vendors set up booths to sell food, flower/gardening items, and the fields are bursting with beautiful blooms, and visitors can walk the lanes between the flowers to see thousands of these gorgeous flowers up close. A test garden (with new varieties on display) as well as a flower show/display in an cool, underground display room delight visitors. Picnic tables are available, and often a band will be playing. Other associated events are a Volkswalk and a Fun Run.
Entrance to the Dahlia Festival is free.
