Large glass sundial posted high up on the south side of the Henry Bellmon Research Center.

This large glass sundial is mounted on the south side of the Henry Bellmon Research Center, on the Oklahoma State University campus. Waymark coordinates are for a good viewing angle, about 15 ft. south of the sundial, at ground level. A bronze plaque directly underneath the sundial, at eye level, gives the following information:

Sundial face declination: 0º 48' East of South
The glass sundial above is designed to indicate true local solar time by measuring the apparent movement of the sun across the sky. To obtain central standard time use the chart below to find the correction for today's date and add the appropriate number of minutes to the solar time indicated by the shadow on the sundial face. When daylight saving time is in effect during the part of the year from late winter to late fall add an extra hour to the correction to arrive at central daylight time.
