This is one of several benches in Phase I of the creation of Veteran's Memorial Park in Mount Pleasant.
This bench honors a father and his daughter

The father was an educator at the local high school for 15 years, where he met his wife. Following his work as an educator, he took over the family business, V. Rosso Florist and Greenhouses, which he operated until his death. He was well known in the floral industry and a board member of the Florists Transworld Delivery (FTD) Association. He was very active in the community in which he grew up. He was an avid reader and was a contributing author to the publication, Town At The Crossroads--A History of Mount Pleasant. He held an elected position on the Mt. Pleasant Borough Council for 32 years, and served a term as president of the County Borough Association. He was currently a member of the Mt. Pleasant Library Board of Directors and consultant for the Borough. He was also an active parishioner at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and belonged to the Holy Name Society. He was a member of many local organizations: Sons of Italy, Assunta, Hecla Sportsmen'sClub, Standard Shaft Club, Mt. Pleasant Elks and the Kosciuszko Club. Following the death of his daughter, Annette, due to a brain tumor, his attention focused on helping others in similar circumstances. His strong influence led his son to become a physician specializing in neurosurgery. He was the founder of the Annette Miele Memorial Foundation, which distributes a yearly scholarship to a senior at Mt. Pleasant Area High School, and was active in local cancer support groups.
