This is one of several benches in Phase I of the creation of Veteran's Memorial Park in Mount Pleasant. This bench honors Martin R. Honeychuck, He was a lifelong member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant and its Holy Name Society. He attended Visitation School and was a 1936 graduate of East Huntingdon High School. He was veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army, for which he received a World War II Victory Ribbon. Prior to retirement, his former employment included Thorofare Market, Harris Boyer Baking Co., Varga Cleaners, O'Hanlon Cleaners, Kubiak Wholesale and janitorial duties at Transfiguration church and school. He was a member and active with funeral details of American Legion Post 446, VFW Post 3368 and Knights of Columbus Council 3334, all in Mt. Pleasant, a fourth-degree Knight of the Bishop O'Connor Assembly 0921 and a member of AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood.
