A rather cool area to explore and remember Old Florida. The grist mill exhibit is interactive and quite fun.

Leno once had the name of Keno, known as the gambling game. It was changed to Leno about 1876 to change the reputation of the gambling town. Originally there was a hotel, stores, a sawmill, and several homes. When the railroad bypassed Leno the town gradually began to die. Local residents started calling the abandoned town "Old Leno". Today the only remnants are the old dam foundations in the river from the grist mills. The State of Florida bought up the land in 1934, and the CCC converted into a State park which it is know by today. As a State Park it uses the contraction of O'Leno.
