The Worcester Art Museum (open daily 9-5; Sun. 2-5), 55 Salisbury St., of modified classic design, was founded in 1896 by Stephen Salisbury III. A sequence of galleries traces the entire history of the fine arts in both the eastern and western hemispheres from prehistoric times to the present.

July and August were free museum days, so I took advantage of it and strolled around the Museum for about an hour. The Antioch mosiac was impressive, however my favorite exhibit was the Winogrand's Women Are Beautiful photographs. Simple black and white photos taken on the fly of women on the street, at a party and other every day events.
