This piece of Old Agricultural Equipment is on display in a small park next to the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum at 100 Fort Street in downtown Buffalo, Wyoming.

These tongs were used to lift hay from a hay wagon and transfer it to a haystack for storage until needed to feed livestock. As the tongs were dropped onto the hay on the wagon, the vertical rod at the center would open the tongs to the position shown. When the tongs were lifted, they automatically closed, grabbing a 'handful' of hay.
