Corporal Charles W. Dolloff earned the Medal of Honor at the break-out at Petersburg in the US Civil War for capturing the flag. He died Aug. 2 1884 and is buried in Forest Cemetery in Stevens Point, WI

Death: Aug. 2, 1884


Civil War ... Medal of Honor Recipient. Served as Corporal in Company K, 11th Vermont Volunteer Infantry (aka 1st Artillery, 11th Vermont Volunteers). He was awarded the CMOH at the break-out at Petersburg on April 2, 1865, His citation reads simply "Capture of a flag." His medal was issued on April 24, 1865. He was born in Parishville, New York, and died near Cancon, Wisconsin."
