Zinc headstone for man who was the father of several buried nearby at the St. Paul Cemetery in rural Ralls county about four miles west of Center, Missouri.

Grave is in family plot at the St. Paul Cemetery which located adjacent to the former St. Paul Catholic Church. The cemetery dates to the formation of the parish in 1828 and the present church building dates to 1860.

The gravestone is a small obelisk with draping.

Born Sept. 15, 1839,
Died Feb. 24, 1882

Mourn Not The Dead Tis They Alone,
Who Are The Peaceful And The Free,
Let Gentle Memory Fill The Home,
Where once I Used to Be.
