The Wetumpka Fire Department is an ISO rated Class 4 fire department that provides services to over 20,000 residents within a 70 square mile coverage area in and around the city.

The department participates in the Elmore County Firefighter’s Association, and works with the Elmore County Emergency Management Agency and has mutual aid agreements with surrounding departments in the county, particularly the neighboring fire districts of Elmore, Holtville, Titus, Byuck, Santuck, Eclectic, Emerald Mountain, and Redland.
