This aircraft was originally delivered as a C-47A-5-DK Skytrain to the United States Army Air Forces on February 13, 1944 with the serial number 42-92454. It was transferred to the Royal Air Force (RAF) and renumbered FZ671 before being transferred again to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) on June 23, 1946. It served at some point with the Instrument Check Pilot School, then later with 429 Squadron at the Air Navigation School at CFB Winnipeg, Manitoba. During its time at CFB Winnipeg, the RCAF was merged into the new Canadian Forces. The aircraft was redesignated a CC-129 Dakota and renumbered with the tail number 12944 on June 26, 1970. It was seen at CFB Trenton in 1982 carrying the name "Quarter Time", then again in 1989, painted in semi-correct WWII colours and RAF serial number, for the type retirement ceremony. It was struck off on April 14, 1989 and stored at CFB Trenton before being moved to the Comox Air Force Museum, where it was on display in the Heritage Air Park by 1995. The aircraft was repainted in 2009 and the tail number incorrectly painted on as "EZ671".
