This aircraft was originally procured for the Canadian Army as one of twelve CH-113A Voyageur helicopters, a variant of the Boeing Vertol helicopter. It was delivered as tail number 10410 on November 9, 1964. In 1975, the Voyageurs were all converted to the Labrador search-and-rescue configuration and redesignated CH-113A Labradors to join six CH-113 Labradors that were already in SAR service. This aircraft was renumbered to tail number 11310 during that process. It served at some point in its early SAR career with 413 Squadron at CFB Summerside in Prince Edward Island, and in the 1980s with 103 Squadron at CFB Gander, Newfoundland. While serving in Newfoundland, it helped search for survivors of the Ocean Ranger oil rig disaster. It served with 442 Squadron at CFB Comox in the early 1990s before transferring to 424 Squadron at CFB Trenton in Ontario where it was retired on June 26, 2004.
The aircraft resided at CFB Trenton until December 2009, when it was shipped in two pieces to the Comox Air Force Museum. Reassembly and refurbishment took place in 2010 before it was put on display in the Heritage Air Park as the newest addition. The tail artwork for the CFB Comox-based 442 Squadron was re-added during the restoration process.
