A Bay of Plenty dairy farmer has assembled one of the biggest beer can collections in the world and created a quirky little museum on his farm in Galatea.
Situated in large sheds on the farm, this unusual museum began from the collection of beer cans gathered over the years. There are now 12,000 cans from over 150 countries plus 10,000 other Brewery pieces of interest. The museum also contains a collection of Vintage Farm tractors and Classic Cars.
You will find this hidden treasure at Jolly Road, No.374, off Troutbeck Road in Galatea, 75kms east of Rotorua.
It is well worth a visit to see this interesting collection set in a scenic valley with a backdrop of the stunning Urewera Ranges.
The museum is listed on the NZMuseums website, and other local tourist website listings and has a Facebook website.
