This parking area on Rt 14 along the west side of Seneca Lake is designated as a scenic overlook. There is a historic marker at this location as well.

Although it is designated as a scenic overlook, I must admit that there are many sights between Geneva and Watkins Glen that have much more impressive views of the lake than here. Perhaps if the scrub trees at the edge of the farmers field hadn't been allowed to grow, there would be more to see. Even so, you can catch a peek of the lake between the trees in my (default) picture.
