Striking monument to those from the municipalities of Cramahe and Castleton who gave their lives in World Wars I and II.
Memorial is constructed of limestone, with an ornately carved peace dove and wreath on the top. The lower section includes sculptured swords and robes depicting the symbolic weapons and accoutrements of Victory.
The monument is beginning to show the ravages of time.
The names of the dead from the Great war are inscribed on the front. The names of the dead from WWII are inscribed on the back.
There are 4 stone "cannonballs" at the front, each with an important great War battle inscribed: Mons, Courcellette, Vimy Ridge and Ypres.
