The narrow sidewalk in front of the waterfront marketplace in Anse la Raye is decorated with an interesting series of mosaics that depict the type of fish native to the area and that are caught and sold in this fishing village.
The series consists of eight local species such as flying fish, red snapper, rock lobster and swordfish. Each mosaic is about 2' square with the swordfish being larger , about 3' square. The swordfish has the letters ALR (for Anse la Raye) in the upper right hand corner and the central flag image of St. Lucia in the lower left corner.
Anse la Raye is a photo stop for tour groups travelling between the port of Castries and the Soufriere Volcano mud baths.
