I discovered this machine when bringing the kids to the museum earlier this summer. I can't remember what it costs.. either 50 cents or one dollar, plus your penny. You can choose from any of 4 designs, for three of which I've posted pics. The fourth has a picture of a dinosaur on it.
The machine is located past the admissions desk on the back wall behind (or beside, depending on how you look at it) the security desk. I was never given any hassles about showing my admission stamp in order to get to the machine. You should be able to visit it "free of charge", so to speak.
