A no fee boat ramp located up river, from the Yates Dam (operated by Alabama Power), on Yates Lake. A picnic pavilion with grill is also located here.

Located at the lower dam (Yates) their are a few signs that say "authorized personel only" on a fence you must pass but it is refering to the dam area after you pass this you round off to the left to the public launch. Yates Reservoir, also known as "middle pond," impounds the Tallapoosa River near Tallassee between the reservoirs of Martin and Thurlow.

Tours are also available for the Yates Dam by appointment.
