This memorial is located in front of a roadside table and next to an historical marker honoring "Mister Jim" Cummings. Mr. Macon was a pioneer of Country Music and especially the Grand Ole Opry. The text on the monument reads:

"How Beautiful Heaven Must Be
In Memory of "Uncle Dave Macon"
1870-1952
Who Pioneered Country Music
Entertaining on "Grand Ole Opry"
1926-1952
Erected by his many Opry friends
