Many of the 46 High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains are accessed via the Von Hoevenberg Trail. Sign and AND out, please.

The Von Hoevenberg Trail starts here, crosses Marcy Dam and ends at Mt Marcy 7.4 miles later. Phelps peak is accessed through a spur trail on he far side of Marcy Dam. A mere .9 miles down the path (before Marcy Dam) the trail splits. The blue trail leads to Wright Peak, Algonquin, and Iroquois, and on to Colden Lake, where Mt Marshall, Colden, Skylight and other peaks can be reached.

The trail gets its name from Hentry Von Hoevenberg, who established trails throughout the Adirondack Loj, which he opened in 1890.
