The park's formal name is Kathryn (Kroutil) Wright Chisholm Trail Park. It sits on 50-acres donated by the Wright family to honor Yukon's Western heritage and the family matriarch who was a also a fine arts philanthropist.
The violin, or is it a cello, is found on the dedication marker sitting just to the west side of the park's drive-in entrance. It's one of three objets d'art found by the park's entrance. One of the others is a free-standing Longhorn; the other is a wagon wheel mounted on another dedication marker.
Although the exact age of the sculpture is unknown, from the dedication marker, we know that was crafted after 1990.
