Dancing Myself was featured in the Castlegar Sculpture Walk in 2012. It is now on permanent display in Nelson.
This sculpture is fun to look at, as each time you see something new.
Dancing Myself stands at least 10' tall. The figure is wearing a pair of mosaic pants encircling a tiny waist torso. The dancer is a feast of colour and form with oversized metal hands and feet that are flailing about unabashed. She is adorning bangles on her one wrist and opposite upper arm. The mosaic is made from bits of ceramic and glass the artist collected over the years.
This marvelous sculpture was accomplished by talented artist Rabi’a from Winlaw. Her lifelong credo - "just do it", should inspire you to remove your shoes and dance in the street.
