The bronze figure is out front and to the left of the main entrance of this visitor center at a small island in the grass called the Lincoln Statue Plaza. Abe sits on the left side of a stone bench, his right proper hand resting on his hat which sits with the bottom down on the bench. His left proper hand is holding papers or a small book or pamphlet, with the arm resting in his lap. He is wearing a long overcoat, a dress shirt and bow time and is looking over to this left. The statue is left size and Abe looks rather gaunt and old. There is a rock placed opposite the statue with a plaque containing the Gettysburg Address attached to it. The Lincoln statue was dedicated at the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor on November 19, 2009, the 146th anniversary of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.
